About the tcifa
The Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) is a non-for-profit organisation in the business of football development throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands. The TCIFA has been in operation since 1996, and a member of FIFA, since 1998The TCIFA’s Grassroots Development Plan is a crucial extension of the continuous efforts of the TCIFA to develop and expand grassroots football in the Islands. The implementation of these structured programmes has helped the Association create 30 newly qualified coaches and has assisted the Department of Sports and Education with the establishment of football in the school’s curriculum. The schools have furthered been supported by the provision of equipment and the establishment of annual competitions organized and played at the TCIFA National Academy.
This initiative has seen a huge growth in the number of youth players actively participating in the sport. The benefit of this has allowed the Association to set up dedicated Centres of Excellence for both boys and girls from the ages of U9 upwards.
The growth in football has impacted not only our youth and grassroots program but has extended to and embraced other age groups and areas of the game. TCIFA has evolved in recent years from having just two senior leagues and six Regional Academies, to seven Senior Leagues, five Centres of Excellence, seventeen regional academies and sixteen youth leagues/competitions.
