Masters League 2015
The Masters League hosted its first games approximately seven years ago in the Turks and Caicos Islands. These games were developed specifically for men over the age of 35 years with a view of encouraging a continuous healthy lifestyle. Although the pace of the game is a considered slower than the usual with minor changes, the high level of competition still remains.
The 2015 season on October 8th at the Turks & Caicos Islands Football Association (“TCIFA”) National Academy with five teams battling to emerge at the top of the chart: those teams are Teachers, Police, Realest and Cheshire Hall. With a competitive game between Cheshire Hall and Realest (2-1) and another between Teacher and the Police (3-2), the season began on a bright and successful note.
After hosting 16 games, the current standings for the season are as followed: Teachers in 1st place with 17 points, followed by Cheshire Hall in 2nd position with 16 points, Realest with 3 points in 3rd and Police standing in 4th with 1 point. With only four more games left to determine the top team for this season, the competition between the teams is heating up.
The current top scorers for this season are: Haroon Swaby of Cheshire Hall with a number of 13 goals, followed by Ian Chang of Teachers with 6 goals and presently standing in third place is Agenor Joseph of Cheshire Hall with 5 goals. Having only four more games left to play these results can have a significant change as teams try to redeem themselves.
Games will continue on Thursday, November 26th, 2015 at the TCIFA’s National Academy with the first game kicking off at 6:30pm and the second game at 7:40pm. The general public is invited to attend.
