Charlie Flowe joins forces with the Philadelphia football community to supply gear for TCIFA youth programmes
Charlie Flowe is the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach ofPhiladelphia University, a professional GK trainer and host of World Sports Show, Philadelphia. After visiting the Providenciales Academy Programme during December of last year, and expressing interest in returning for the 2017 Identification Camp, he embarked on a mission to host a donation drive in aid of Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA). This involved announcements and requests made via social media, email, and the World Sports Show.
Charlie’s efforts and enthusiasm gained a number of responses. Amongst donators were Andrew Raudabaugh of Chester City United, John DiCriscio of World Sports Show, John McBride of Bridesburg Recreational Center of Philadelphia, Courtney Niemiec (professional football player for North Carolina Courage, NWSL), West Coast Goal Keeping (Seattle, Washington) and Junior lone Star FC. Ninety (90) pairs of football boots, nine (9) paris of goal keeper gloves, five (5) pairs of shin guards, seven balls and twenty (20) pairs of socks were collected. When the Junior Lone Star FC of Philadelphia heard about Charlie’s project, the football club immediately committed to bearing the cost of airline baggage fees for transportation to Providenciales.
The TCIFA would to thank all of those persons and organizations that have contributed to making a difference in the lives of our players. Charlie has invested a significant amount of time and effort into coordinating this project and making it a huge success. The gear received, will be distributed to players of the youth football programs throughout Providenciales, Grand Turk, South Caicos and North/Middle Caicos.
