Bringing Home The Bronze, Commonwealth Youth Games 2017
The inauguration of the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Beach Soccer games took place on July 19th, in Nassau Bahamas. With the Turks and Caicos Islands participating in the girls' competition, four teams went head to head for the winning title. This included Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.

Game 1, July 19: TCI 2, T&T 5 - Goals scored by Sydnee Campbell and Danara Brooks
Game 2, July 20: TCI 5, Bahamas 4 - 2 Goals scored by Erika Jeanguy, 2 goals by Sydnee Campbell and 1 by Dessa Douglas
Game 3, July 21: TCI 2, Jamaica 11 - Goals scored by Sydnee Campbell and Erika Jeanguy
As Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica lead the competition with both the most wins and goals, Turks & Caicos Islands and the Bahamas reunited in a battle for third place. On July 22nd, Turks and Caicos Islands captured the bronze medal, with a score of 3-1; all 3 goals scored by Sydnee Campbell, the team captain. Trinidad and Tobago received the gold medal, and Jamaica, the silver.
Welcome Back Home!
Upon the team's return to Providenciales, they were greeted by loud cheers and bouquets of flowers, as parents, members of other TCI sporting disciplines, and supporters rallied at the exit to congratulate them. Also present with excitement was the Minister of Education, Youth, Sports, and Library Services, Hon. Karen Malcolm.
The team was transported to the TCIFA office, where a surprise congratulatory and press reception was held; an opportunity for TCIFA and supporters to express their happiness and bring words of encouragement and confidence.
