Match 8

The Eagles were without their first chosen goalkeeper, Philogene, who was suspended whilst the Sharks were almost at full strength.

With Gregg and Pluviose up front, the Sharks were hard to handle from the start and they took turns scoring the first four goals from 9 minutes in. The Eagles continued to play good football as they have done in their previous games but struggled to create many chances.

The second half continued with two more goals from Brian Gregg, another from Peterson Pluviose with Delva and Torres contributing. Amos Jean scored a consolation for the Eagles late on.

A learning process for the Eagles, but as many of the crowd commented, they didn’t stop trying to play. The Sharks will be looking to continue this kind of form against the stronger teams in future games.

Four goals from Gregg took him right back to the top of the Golden Boot chart

Player of the week: Brian Gregg, SWA Sharks

Match 9

Coach Swaby's steady Cheshire Hall team took on Johnny Suckrajh's Beaches team, languishing without a win, and it was Cheshire Hall who came out on top through their in form young striker Jeanlis Job. He has had injury issues over the last couple of years and had been playing in goal but came back up front this season. After just two minutes, he threaded his way through the Beaches defence and managed to surprise the keeper to make it 0-1. Ten minutes later saw him produce a superb overhead kick from a cross from the left and this was followed by a deft chip over the keeper on 34 minutes. Beaches huffed and puffed, but didn't have the firepower up front to cause too many problems to the Cheshire Hall keeper. They have seemed to lack some structure and organisation this season so far.

Cheshire Hall is an improving side and the likely later kick-offs as the evenings get longer will help them in future games. There were strong performances in the Cheshire Hall , including Wilwood Telfort, Ganel Joseph and the dependable Jackson Joseph but the star of the show has to be Job.
