TCIFA Women’s National Football Programme Partners With Checkmate Inc.

TCIFA announced the partnership of its Women’s National Football Programme with Checkmate Inc. This mutually beneficial partnership was announced at the Women’s Football Social and Awards, on February 2nd, 2019.

Checkmate Inc., an entertainment and events production company in the Turks & Caicos Islands, donated sports watches to each participant of the Women’s National Football Programme. The company, which engages in business events, weddings, and entertainment, prides itself on providing a one-stop shop for all production needs; designing events for customers or taking their prepackaged concepts and implementing them as instructed. The donation of the sports watches to TCIFA’s Women's National Team will be used to monitor players' personal workout routine and other areas of their training program.

Candace Hanchell, TCIFA 2nd Vice-President and Head of Women’s Football had this to say: “Women's Football welcomes the marriage of our new partner, Checkmate Inc. Checkmate's vision to assist with building positive community initiatives is one that we wholeheartedly embrace. We extend our thanks and gratitude to Mr. Llewlyn Basden - CEO and the entire Management and Staff of Checkmate Inc.”

Mr. Basden commented, “Checkmate Inc. takes pleasure in supporting our local community through its contributions to local charities and social programmes. The TCIFA Women’s National Programme is an important part of our society as it provides an outlet for those women who wish to participate and give back to something constructive in our communities. We are pleased to support this effort by making our contributions.”

Such positive initiatives have the power to continue engagement, motivate and inspire girls and women to play, and is a breakthrough that can be felt far beyond the field. Women’s Football has faced many setbacks and difficulties with regard to securing viable sponsorships over the years. TCIFA appeals to other local companies to get involved and assist in whatever way they can to ensure that the girls and women of our community are able to reach their fullest potential. By removing these barriers, we aim to help shape the next generation of female players and leaders.
