Turks And Caicos Collection Named New “KICK FOR A CAUSE” Champions, By TCIFA And D&B Auto Ltd.

Football is one of the fastest growing sports in the Turks & Caicos Islands with over 600 youth participants in existence and many more being registered each year. Currently, programmes run on Providenciales, Grand Turk, South Caicos, and North/Middle Caicos. Whilst blazing the trail for professionalism, the unveiling of a new programme structure introduces 3 national youth football teams, and 4 Centers Of Excellence (the elite youth programme); as well as community football programmes underway. Meanwhile, fundraising continues to play an important role in promoting the sustained activity. In aid of the youth development football programmes across the country, The Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA), in collaboration with D&B Auto Ltd, hosted the 2nd edition of “KICK FOR A CAUSE,” the annual Corporate 7v7 football competition. This tournament is one aimed at members of the Turks and Caicos Islands Corporate community. The teams are co-ed, thus fostering active female involvement.

The competition was played in a round-robin format, with two groups of four teams, with each team being afforded a minimum of three fifteen-minute games. The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force were the defending champions. However, the undefeated Turks & Caicos Collection snatched the trophy after a grueling match against the 2018 champions. Bay Bistro placed third.

David Daley, owner of D&B Auto Ltd said, “We are proud that we are able to support an event like this again; one that brings the community together for one common goal, and especially one that benefits our children. It is also heartwarming to see the supportive response as other companies and organizations are finding opportunities and ways to give back, whilst being present. We share in the vision of the TCIFA, to ensure a healthy, empowering, and community-focused Turks and Caicos Islands.”

The TCIFA has already prepared to turn to next year’s edition for which requests for participation have already been received from many companies and organizations.
