Turks and Caicos Islands Referees Employs Active Recruitment for New Officials

Referees are a vital part of football, and as the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association seeks to continually grow and develop the game, there is a constant need to recruit and develop referees. Refereeing can be a highly rewarding challenge, encouraging a he

althy and active lifestyle as well as significantly contributing to the development of the game. Referees operate at all levels, from grassroots football, to senior league football and international matches.

With the 2021 competitions calendar now coming into motion, the Turks and Caicos Islands Referee’s Association hosted a Beach Soccer Referees Course on December 11-13th, 2020. Leading the virtual-theory session was FIFA Referee - Wilson DaCosta of the Bahamas, along with Kwabena Wright (North Caicos Referee), Wayne Anderson (Instructor in Training), Dane Ritchie (TCIFA Technical Instructor) and Patrice Senior (TCIFA Head of Referees). Ritchie and Senior continued with two days of practical training sessions.

The Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association encourages all persons who play or have played football to join the referee’s association. Fans, as well as persons who have no knowledge of the game are also welcomed. All of our locally based courses are arranged in-line with demand, and it is entirely up to the registrant how far they’d like to progress.
