Concacaf 2022 World Cup Qatar Qualifiers Draw Results
The Concacaf 2022 World Cup Qatar Qualifiers preliminary draw was broadcasted LIVE on FIFA.com on Wednesday, August 19th at 1:00pm. Here, the Turks and Caicos Islands was fifth to be drawn to Group E together with Haiti, Nicaragua, Belize, and St. Lucia, respectively. The Concacaf Qualifiers will consist of three rounds. The first round will be played in a group-stage involving 30 of the lowest ranked Concacaf members according to the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking of 16th July 2020. Turks and Caicos will play a total of four matches against its group members, two at home and two away.
The first place finishers of each round will then advance to the second round in a home-and-away, direct elimination format. The pairings for the second round are: group A winner vs. group F winner, group B winner vs. group E winner, and group C winner vs. group D winner. The final round will feature the three winners from the second round and the five highest ranked Concacaf members according to the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking 0f 16th July, 2020. After home-and-away, round robin play, the top three teams will qualify directly for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, and the fourth team will qualify for the FIFA intercontinental play-off in June 2022.
